An effective stakeholder consultation process will be an integral part of the project. The overall objective of the consultation process will be to collect information, inform, educate, conduct field assessment, and solicit buy-in and commitment.
The objectives of the consultation program will be achieved by hosting:
- Stakeholders meetings to (a) create a broader awareness of the potential and value of community-based tourism and (b) solicit input on thoughts, ideas, concerns, and desired directions.
- Targeted workshops with specific groups directly involved in or interested in the tourism industry.
It is important to have a cross section of businesses, individuals and groups attend each session (Councils, tourism operators, organizations, heritage groups, and special interest groups) to ensure full interaction and cross fertilization of discussions and ideas.
