Name the Puppy 2003" contest
The RCMP is asking young people from across the country to help name 10 German Shepherd puppies born at the Police Dog Service Training Centre in Innisfail, Alta.
Entrants can suggest only one name per contest - the name may be for a male or a female pup.
The name must start with the letter "N", cannot have more than nine letters; and must have one or two syllables.
Entrants must be under 16 years old. More than one entrant per household is acceptable, as long as each provides a separate piece of paper.
To enter, print your name, age, address, telephone number, and the suggested name for a puppy on a piece of paper or a postcard and mail it to:
The Officer in Charge,
Police Dog Service Training Centre

Attn: "Name the Puppy Contest"
Deadline for entries is February 28, 2003. Winning names will be chosen by members of the RCMP Police Dog Service Training Centre. In case of multiple submissions of the same name, a draw will determine the winning entry. When thinking of a name for one of the puppies, keep in mind, these are working police dogs, not pets.
Contest winners will be announced March 21, 2003, and will receive an official Police Dog Service ball cap and a colour picture of the pup they have named.
