Community Access Program

The Canada Newfoundland and Labrador Community Access Program (CNL-CAP) is a joint initiative of the federal and provincial governments to help people in communities across Newfoundland and Labrador achieve the economic and social benefits that are available through the Information Highway. The program is part of Connecting Canadians, a national strategy to make Canada the most electronically connected country on earth.

CNL-CAP provides funding to communities to help establish and operate public Internet access sites. These sites are known as Community Access Centers (CAC's).

There are seven CAC's located along the Baccalieu Trail that provide access to various services such as scanning, printing, computer applications, Internet access and digital cameras.  People use the Internet at the CAC's to find a job, research and learn, shop, communicate with others and connect with government and community on-line services.
