New Perlican is an outport community located on Route 80, on the north east coast of Trinity Bay. The Town first received its name in 1597 from Charles Leigh.

• The total population is approximately 252.
Industries / Economic Activity:
• The majority of employment originates from the Fishery with seasonal work at the fish plants in Winterton and Hant's Harbour. Other residents in the community work for the Canadian Coast Guard, and some residents commute to nearby communities for employment.
