Overview:

Cupids' history dates back to the year 1610, when John Guy from Bristol, England established a plantation at what was then known as Cuper's Cove. It was the first official English settlement in what is now Canada. It is the second oldest in North America, preceded only by Jamestown, Virginia. Also, the first birth of an Anglo-Saxon child took place here in Cuper's Cove.
Cupids is located approximately 80 km west of St. John's, the capital city of Newfoundland. Cupids is accessible via Route 70-A, and is just 15 km from the Trans Canada Highway (TCH).

• The fish processing plant in Cupids is in operation seasonally.
