The Bay Roberts East Heritage Hiking Trail
is more than four-kilometer long. The trail winds through
spectacular scenery in Bay Roberts East. Part of the trail
is through French's Cove which was first settled in the mid 1600s
and which was a thriving fishing community until the turn of the
20th century. The rock
walls, root cellars, and
drainage systems have been restored as part of the trail, along
with stone steps leading down into the fishing community. Following
the trail along the shoreline through Juggler's Cove down to Mad
Rocks, it is possible to see whales and icebergs in season.
