While in Town you are invited
to visit the Experimental Beach Pea Station located on Northwest Brook
Road. Experimental plots of the perennial Beach Pea (Lathyrus Japonicus)
are currently undergoing extensive research, a joint venture of the
Salmon Cove Future Development Association and Agriculture and Agrifoods
Canada.
Along with research on
the Beach Pea, the SCFDA and Agriculture and Agrifoods Canada
are undergoing extensive research on medicinal herbs.
The perennial Beach Pea grows wild on Salmon Cove Sands and has
been adopted as the Official Town Flower.
