One of the largest icebergs in width ever seen in Spaniard�s Bay arrived around June 11th with the last piece disappearing August 3, 2003. It was cause for much excitement for local persons and tourists alike, not to mention the economic boost to the Spaniard�s Bay area. It brought tour buses from St. John�s laden down with people who were excited with being able to actually see and take pictures close up of such a huge iceberg let alone actually picking up a piece from the shore.
